HOPALONG ANIMAL RESCUE is a non-profit companion animal rescue and placement service. We foster and place cats and dogs who are at risk of being euthanized by one of the East Bay animal shelters. Since 1993, Hopalong Animal rescue has faciliated placement for over 6,500 dogs & cats, kittens and puppies into new homes. However, we can't do it alone. We can rescue companion animals from the local shelters only with the help of volunteers who act as foster homes for cats and dogs. It seems that we are always in desperate need of more foster homes.

WE are a small group of volunteers who work to rescue animals from high kill shelters, off the streets, and from various abusive situations or homes. WE believe it is our responsibility to insure that every animal we have the priviledge of rescuing will be treated with respect, love, and kindness for the rest of their lives.WE place our animals in only the best loving and safe homes.WE are always in DESPERATE need of foster homes..which help the animals transition and heal from the trauma of becoming homeless..and /or from the abuse or neglect they have suffered in their past.WE try not to "kennel" an animal..although sometimes that is our only choice to save their lives. So whether or not one can "adopt" or become a "foster"..both are much needed..

The Humane Society of Sonoma County, founded in 1931, is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that serves animals and people throughout Sonoma County. Donations from individuals, businesses and foundations who share our commitment to the animals and to the quality of life in our community make our services and programs possible. Every dollar given goes to work for the animals and people right here in Sonoma County. Without your donations we would be unable to fund the programs so vital to our mission of providing quality care and a safe haven for our companion animals, finding each animal a loving home and providing education and outreach to better the lives of people and their pets.

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe works to find homes for adoptable animals in the Truckee/North Lake Tahoe, California area. We follow a strict policy of finding homes for every healthy adoptable animal. We are a non-profit organization staffed largely by volunteers working out of their homes. Because we have no animal shelter, we care for our animals in the Town of Truckee's non-public small animal kennel and through foster care in our homes
