The Amanda Connection's goal is to find homes for our wonderful charges -- most of whom were rescued from terrible situations or simply abandoned by their owners to fend for themselves. We have a kaliedoscope of kitties ranging from tiny kittens to well mannered and lovingly friendly adults. We try hard to match up all potential adopters with a suitable feline companion to match their needs, desires and lifestyle

The Animal Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals. Our goal is to help end companion animal homelessness and prevent cruelty to animals in Newtown and the broader Connecticut community by providing services that foster the bond between humans and animals. While we maintain a broad interest in a wide range of animal issues, our initial efforts are focused on helping unwanted and abandoned cats based on the most immediate needs of our community.

Halfway Home Rescue Inc.'s mission is to focus on the welfare and placement of abused, abandoned, and stray cats. Our initial goal was to provide an additional place for homeless animals when other shelters were too full to help. Along with our "sister" organizations, we work to promote spay/neuter and to assist with Trap/Neuter/Return of feral cats. Since January 1st of this year, over 250 cats and half dozen dogs passed through Halfway Home Rescue Inc. on their way to forever homes or back to their feral colonies as part of a Trap/Neuter/Return program.

Every animal looking for a home is spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, tested negative for Feline AIDS & Leukemia, treated for internal/external parasites and ready for a new home. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space. Except in cases of terminal illness or extreme behavioral issues, all animals are here until they find forever homes.

The Oxford Animal Shelter is a municipal animal control facility. As much as we can, we provide the basics of care for the animals, but what they really need is a loving stable home environment to truly be happy. The animals are cared for, groomed and exercised by a dedicated group of volunteers who have lots of love and attention to give the animals, but a loving home is what they really need...
