Texas Purebred Rescue & AdoptionWe are a small group of volunteers in San Angelo, Texas who help out purebred animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, etc) in the state of Texas. Because of our small size we had to have some limitations so we decided to help purebred because we are familiar with the characteristics (temperments, needs) of purebred animals. All the dogs live in a home environment and are crate trained so that they will more easily make the transition into their permanent homes. The primary breeds we help are large breeds- great danes, afghan hounds, greyhounds, Irish Wolfhounds, mastiffs, etc, but always have plenty of room for the smaller animals in needed such as Persians, Scottish Folds, Siamese, etc. We also have bird, rodent, and rabbitry experience, and occassionally will take in an owner release horse whom can't be cared for anymore. Schertz Animal ServicesSchertz Animal Shelter is a city based adoption facility. We have 18 dog adoption kennels, 22 dog holding kennels, and 4 dog quarantine kennels. We also have 9 cat adoption kennels, 11 cat holding kennels, and 2 cat quarantine kennels. We have wonderful relationships with several Rescue Groups and Organizations in our area that strongly support providing forever homes for our pets. We have 5 full time employees, and are open 7 days a week. We provide them with veterinary care, including spay/neuter, foster care and help to find them permanent homes. We are a no-kill agency that does not euthanize animals due to lack of space or time. We rescue animals who are in desperate need of being saved, such as cases of abandonment, abuse and emergency. Vicky's Pet ConnectionVicky's Pet Connection is a growing non-profit organization in Kent County. Our mission is to rescue and recycle unwanted pets and to emphasize low/no cost spays and neuters. Every dog and cat that passes through VPC is sterilized. We are a "no kill" organization working to secure foster homes for the many animals that pass through our door.
