Who We Are
We are focused on rescuing animals off the streets of the city who face no other alternative but a slow painful death due to heartworms and diseases or euthanasia from local animal control facilities.
We provide them with veterinary care, including spay/neuter, foster care and help to find them permanent homes. We are a no-kill agency that does not euthanize animals due to lack of space or time.
We rescue animals who are in desperate need of being saved, such as cases of abandonment, abuse and emergency.
We educate the public about responsible animal guardianship and the need to control pet over population. We assist the public with care for their animals via financial assistance, training, or education.

Our goals at the Vicksburg-Warren Humane Society are to rescue animals from abuse and neglect; to educate pet owners about proper animal welfare, to promote spaying and neutering to avoid over-population and abuse; and to bring people and pets together for the benefit of both.

Vicky's Pet Connection is a growing non-profit organization in Kent County. Our mission is to rescue and recycle unwanted pets and to emphasize low/no cost spays and neuters. Every dog and cat that passes through VPC is sterilized. We are a "no kill" organization working to secure foster homes for the many animals that pass through our door. The pets are given medical attention, grooming and manner lessons if need be. Keep in mind some of the animals have been neglected (or worse) and foster homes provide the extra TLC they may need. Foster homes can help better discover the pet's true behavior and identify their assests as well.

The Vidor Animal Control Department fundamental duty is to enforce local and state laws. Investigate Cruelty to Animals; educate the public in prevention of animal bites, diseases of animals. These include diseases that spread from animal to animal, as well as animal to humans. This is why it is important to have animals vaccinated yearly against rabies. We also, try and help educate the public the importance of having animals spayed or neutered.

Our adoption policy is quite simple! First, you have to come into the shelter and find a pet that will suit your family. Then you fill out an application consisting of your name, address, veterinarian, and a short adoption agreement. We schedule a spay/neuter appointment for the animal and after the procedure is complete you pick your new pet up from Eagle River Animal Hospital in Eagle River. One thing that we would like to mention is that the Humane Society of Vilas County does not adopt dogs out to live outside.
