The MonDak Humane Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. At the present time we are functioning specifically as a "Lost and Found" and "Adoption Facilitator" we do not have a temporary shelter and only a few foster homes to house our animals. If you would like to provide a temporary home for a foster animal please visit our Fostering Animals page. The Monmouth County SPCA not only finds homes for stray dogs and cats, but also those family pets that can no longer be cared for by their owners. The MCSPCA is committed to preventing cruelty to animals, and we see to it that a human being responsible for cruelty to an animal is brought to justice.

The Canine Adoption Center is funded by our County Commision. We are animal control in the city limits and we are dog wardens for the entire county.
The Canine Adoption Center has recently became a manditory spay/neuter facility! All animals are now altered before they are put up for adoption

We are the municipal animal control facility located in Monroeville, PA. After our adoption questionnaire has been completed, returned and approved, visits are by appointment only. We will do our best to match you with a dog or cat that is compatible with your family's lifestyle. Our goal is to find the best match for both pet and adoptive family. Please spay and neuter. NOTE that our facility is not open to the public without an appointment as the animal control officer is often out of the office as that is the nature of the job and the adoption volunteers who have full-time jobs elsewhere are only available one morning; the facility is in a secured location which is inaccessible evenings and weekends. The animals in foster homes might be available for evening and weekend appointments. We greatly appreciate your patience in communicating with our adoption volunteers who may not be able to get their phone messages or emails until late in the evening.

The Monroe County Animal Control Shelter has many breeds of stray and abandoned animals for adoption to the general public. The sale of any county owned animal is at the option of the Animal Control Department. Before an animal is placed into a new home all stray animals shall be held pursuant to law in order to give the original owner a chance to claim their pet.
