Mercer County Animal ShelterThe Mercer County Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization. We are supported entirely by donations and a small fee charged to the towns of Mercer County to pick up and care for unwanted, stray, and abandoned animals. We are a open admission Shelter .That is a county operation . With limit kennel space... We have 6 inside outside runs and 5 extra inside runs in the back for isolation for dogs and 10 available spaces for cats. With that said we hold a wonderful record of not having to euth any adoptable animal that has come through our doors for 2 years now!!! With the hard work of the staff and the many rescues we work with we have also been able to help out other neighboring shelters absorbing some of their animals also. We also have in place a wonderful fostering program.
