Pine B.A.R.C. is a no-kill adoption center located on an 80 acre farm in Lamar County, Mississippi. We currently house more then 80 dogs in large fenced in areas. We depend on foster homes to house the cats and kittens. In addition to dogs and cats we are also set up to house hamsters and other pet rodents, rabbits and other small furry animals like ferrets, snakes and other reptiles and pet fish. We feel that preventing the births of the animals before they occur is the solution to the problem of overpopulation and strays.

We give owners an option when they want to put a pet to sleep due to lack of income. We offer the option of the owner signing the pet over to us. We then pay for the medical treatment, and find the pets new homes. We also get many calls with dogs that have been found and are to be euthanized due to their breed. We take every dog, and puppy we are able.

We rescue adoptable animals from overcrowded shelters where they are likely to be euthanized, and take in adoptable strays from the streets. We do not have a physical shelter with established hours; the rescued animals are kept at volunteer foster homes until they find their "forever" homes. This is much less stressful for the animals, because they can become part of a family rather than being isolated in a crate.
