Project HALO is a non-profit, NO-KILL rescue organization based in Charlotte, NC. Currently we are a 100% volunteer organization and are privately funded. Without volunteers and private donations we would not exist. We rescue homeless, stray and unwanted dogs and cats. We take care of all the vet work including shots, sterilization and heartworm treatment, when necessary. All of Project HALO's animals are vet current and sterilized prior to adoption. We feel that this is the only way to run an animal shelter in a responsible manner.

The Animal Connection's mission is to match adoptive animals with the most appropriate homes we can find for the people and pet. Our goal is to give all of the animals that need assistance the best opportunity possible with regards to their preferences, personalities, and particularities. A lot of effort is put forth in the process of finding a suitable match for the animal and the adoptive family. All animals are screened prior to placement. "Screenings" help determine what would be a good home for them by.....Dogs are introduced to inside living, crates, other dogs, cats & children (when possible). Most cats are kept inside only, introduced to dogs (when feasible), and exposed to other cats
