Cats and kittens are cared for and re-homed via a network of volunteer foster homes. Nine Lives cover the areas of Romsey, Southampton and Winchester, but have also helped cats from as far afield as Bournemouth and Portsmouth. As Nine Lives is run completely by volunteers, they are always very grateful for offers of help, for anything from transportation or fund-raising to cake baking! Also, donations of cat food and bric-a-brac are always welcome. They produce a quarterly newsletter, and organise regular fund-raising events. If you'd like to know more, or perhaps could offer a loving home to one of their cats or kittens, please visit their web site.

Cat and Kitten rescue are an independent charity, rescuing and re-homing abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens in the following areas: Winchester, Southampton, Eastleigh and environs. All adult cats re-homed are neutered, and kittens are re-homed on the understanding that they will be neutered at the appropriate time (usually six months). The cats are cared for at two main centres, in Chandlers Ford and Eastleigh, and also at various foster homes. Please call them to discuss the type of cat(s) you are looking for, and they will then help locate the best match! Donations of cat food, bric-a-brac and of course money, are always welcome.

The Great Amwell & District branch of Cats Protection has been in existence science 1947. Initially it was the aim of the late Miss Harvey, daughter of the Vicar of Great Amwell Church to care for stray cats and kittens in the Parish area. Nowadays we cover a much larger area but in her memory we still operate under our original name. We cover the postcode areas of SG11 - SG14, EN11 and EN10 Broxbourne area.
Our neighbouring Branches are Cheshunt and Waltham Cross, Harlow and North Herts.

In addition to their normal rescue and rehoming activities, the branch also runs a "Pensioner cats" for Pensioners Scheme. This gives a longer life to elderly cats who sadly find themselves without a home. It also gives a feline companion to elderly people. They guarantee to pay vet fees for the cat, a point which would often deter the elderly from taking a cat. This scheme brings great contentment on both sides.
