Every cat and dog that comes into our shelter has been vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas. They are all spayed or neutered before being adopted. Some need to be groomed and all need a kind voice and a reassuring touch from staff members.

A small animal care centre in a growing community, the Parry Sound branch is an incredibly busy place! Our branch is constantly overflowing with animals. A shelter built for five dogs, at many times holds more than 10. We can house up to 50 cats at one time but at many times provide shelter for up to 70. Cats and dogs arrive daily, looking for shelter, a kind hand and, ultimately, that most cherished dream, a new permanent, safe home. Responsible for more than 800 animals per year, 6 branch staff members work very hard to make every animal's stay as pleasant as possible in trying circumstances, sharing their few spare moments in one-on-one quality time with the animals in their care.
