We are the Joey Fund, we are a charity run out of an Animal Clinic, we use donations to rescue hurt and abandoned cats. We ask for a donation of $110.00 when one of our rescues are adopted and that donation goes straight back into the Joey Fund account to help us continue our rescue mission. All of our animals go through an isolation program set up by the staff to ensure that they are healthy, socialized and ready for a forever family. This isolation program takes 2 weeks to carry out. We first test them for FIV/FeLV. (Feline AIDS and Feline Leukemia) We will also test for and treat all parasites. They recive a first dose of parasite prevention when they arrive and another before they go home. We give them their full set of vaccinations and spay or neuter them (age permitting). After they carry out their full 2 weeks they are then moved upstairs to play and live in our Joey Fund playroom, filled with lots of toys and climbing trees to occupy their time until a prospective family comes around looking for him/her

The Animal Services Centre is located at 4680 Thickson Road North in the town of Whitby. It is situated one kilometre north of Taunton Road. The original building was constructed by the Ontario Humane Society in 1968 with the generous financial support of Ms. Muriel Sissons. In 1982, the municipalities of Ajax, Pickering and Whitby jointly purchased the property from the Humane Society. The facility was extensively remodelled, modernized and expanded in 1992. The centre is equipped with a modern heating, ventilation and cooling system to provide fresh, clean, temperature controlled air to the animals and to provide the healthiest possible environment. A central pressure washing system is installed in the kennels and the animal housing areas have been designed and finished for durability and to promote a healthy, sanitary environment for the animals housed at the centre.

Humane Society Yukon was founded in 1987 as a direct result of a local Yukon 'big game' outfitter allowing his horses to starve to death.
*· The organization originally had no physical facilities except for a fenced-in dog area on the rural acreage property of Andrea and Florian Lemphers, and a second telephone line in the home.
*· Humane Society Yukon was officially registered as a non-profit society in Yukon in 1989.

The Williams Lake and District Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals first began in April of 1983 with it's first warrant issued. Our warrant area includes a population of approximately 40,000 and takes in Williams Lake, 150 Mile House, Horsefly, Likely, Riske Creek, Hanceville, Lac La Hache, and McLeese Lake. We provide shelter for lost, abandoned, injured, and unwanted animals throughout the warrant area. As we are not Government funded, the WLSPCA has succeeded solely on the donations of the caring people of Williams Lake and Area.

A sincere thank you also goes to our members and supporters. As a non-profit society the majority of our funding to keep the shelter operating comes from the generosity of our members, supporters and fund-raising events put on by the branch. In 1992 a small group of interested people under the guidance of Provincial SPCA incorporated The Hants County SPCA .
For the past 13 years we have taken in on an average from 70 to 90 puppies and dogs, and an average of 100-150 cats and kittens per year. All of these animals are vet checked and given medical treatment, and shelter within a very small group of foster homes.
