Pas and Area Humane SocietyWe are a humane society serving a fairly remote area of Northern Manitoba, Canada. We came together as a group in 1998, incorporated, and became a registered Canadian charitable organization in 1999. As a group of dedicated volunteers, we work to raise awareness of the plight of stray and abandoned animals in the rural north, are concerned about pet over-population, and the cruelty and neglect that so often accompanies these conditions. Paws to Love Animal RescuePaws to Love Animal Rescue is a creation of Cheryl Lintzeris. Her dream has been to work with rescuing dogs, and to eventually open a shelter and sanctuary for many types of animals... not just dogs. As a stepping stone to this dream, Cheryl has created a wonderful business of caring for pets that do have homes. Holiday Pet Care is a dog daycare centre as well as a cageless boarding operation. They also do dog-walking, and pet-sitting. Turtle Gardens Animal ShelterTurtle Gardens has operated for over 20 years as a small, private shelter that rescues homeless dogs in Northern BC. The dogs come from all circumstances - former family dogs, pups from unplanned litters and sadly, dogs from more neglectful situations. Turtle Gardens takes them all in and rehomes almost all of them. Those few listed as unadoptable due to behaviour or health are kept in safety for the remainder of their lives. Affection ConnectionWe are Affection Connection. We are part of Banks Animal Hospital. Banks Animal Hospital has been in operation since 1937, and the adoption program has been in operation for more than 8 years. We have had tremendous success in matching kittens with new homes. Most often people in our neighbourhood bring us kittens from stray cats that have had litters in their garages or under their porches. On the odd occassion we do come to work at 7:00 in the morning to find a box of kittens on our doorstep.
