Wildlife Rescue, IncWildlife Rescue, Inc.(WRI), founded in 1974 in Palo Alto, California, began with a small group of volunteers dedicated to raising and returning to the wild injured and orphaned local wildlife. Today we have over 160 professionally trained volunteers and staff working 3 shifts per day 365 days a year. More than 2200 birds, mammals, and reptiles from our surrounding communities come through our doors needing help each year. We are proud that we release back to the wild a very high percentage of these animals who could not have survived without our intervention. Additional trained volunteers care for animals in their homes, answer phones to assist local residents with wildlife questions, and speak to groups of children about rescuing wildlife.
